TCell

Campaigns

ThCell started off with the HIV Benefits/DLA Review that was started at the end of 2007 as a pilot scheme, as things start to grow with the group.

We want to expand the number of campaign's that we have, with that end we have created a number of web sites for specific topics that are up for discussion.  What were trying to encourage his the HIV Community as a whole to start having a voice again, as for some time there hasn't been one.

So what we would like is your help to move these campaign's forward by giving us your points of view, stories and help that you might have found to inform the community.

The current list of campaign's are as follows:

Aging and HIV   The impact of long term survival and living with HIV.  And to share what is happening in this field, currently the KVN Forum (the patients forum at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital) which is putting together a pilot scheme based on the ROHA Survey that was done in New York City.  With the view to expanding it to a wider audience around the United Kingdom, to see if the services/support and well being of the over 50's are getting the right ones.  And if not then informing the HIV Clinics that they need to expand there services as there is going to be a huge number of HIV people that will be moving towards that age.
HIV Benefits   The ongoing DLA Review and how the DWP are treating customers.
Living with Hepatitis C and HIV Co-infection

The number of HIV people that are living with co-infection with Hepatitis C is increasing.

Due to the harsh nature of treatment for Hepatitis C, more and more patients are having problems coping with treatment for Hepatitis C.

What we want is for your experiences of coping with your day to day life, treatment of both Hepatitis C and HIV and what needs you might have.

HPV and Anal Cancer

HPV (Human Papilloma Virus) and Anal Cancer is an area within the HIV community that currently is not getting the amount of attention that is needed.

With this campaign yet again we need your help and support to make this more of an issues for both the medical world to take more attention to.

Mental Health and HIV   Looking at what services/support groups exist, to help share your experiences and to make the NHS/GPs aware of the services they should be providing to the HIV Community.
Myths and Mis-information

As You may know there are still many myths and mis-information surrounding HIV and it's transmission.

These campaign's are here for you the HIV Community to have it's say, and try and make our voices heard againg.

So please do have your say, and share your experiences and dip falls that you may have.
